Save Mary's Play Schemes
Help us to save Mary’s Play Schemes
We need your help now
In 2016, we filled between 32 and 35 places every day for children aged 6 to 12 over the half terms, Easter and summer holidays…and we had a waiting list. So many parents in Islington need a safe place where they can leave their child, knowing that the children enjoy themselves, whilst learning and interacting with others through a whole range of activities and outings.
When our parents heard that we might have to close Mary’s Play Scheme, this is what some of them said:
‘It would be devastating’
‘I would be in real trouble as my husband and I work full time…’
‘My daughter has made many friends by attending…it’s given me peace of mind whilst working’
‘The quality of activities and outings has always been very high and educational as well as fun’
WE WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE…
BUT, WITHOUT YOUR HELP, WE WON’T BE ABLE TO CONTINUE
What is the problem?
Up till now, we have been able to use government funding to offer places at around half of the real cost.
As of August, this funding will stop.
To continue to offer the October Play Scheme, we need to raise £2,300.
To continue to offer the Play Schemes through 2018, we need a further £22,000.
We are looking at a combination of donations from individuals and grants with an increase in fees. The more we can raise through donations the less we will have to increase fees
We hope you can help us
