Karma Nirvana Memorial Trek

Whernside, Yorkshire

Saturday, 8th July 2017

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!

We will be trekking up to Whernside, the highest point in Yorkshire to raise funds for British Human Rights charity, Karma Nirvana. Based in Leeds, Karma Nirvana support victims of honour-based abuse and forced marriage.

This trek is one of several events being held around the country to commemorate Karma Nirvana's third annual 'Day of Memory'. This special day is to remember those that lost their lives to Honour Killings. Where some families choose to forget and feel shame, we remember and celebrate victim's lives.

Karma Nirvana was founded in Derby in 1993 and operates a national helpline 7 days a week (it receives approximately 750 calls per month from victims and professionals seeking advice on best practice).
As well as helping victims escape immediate danger, the charity train Police, NHS, and Social Services as well as speaking out in schools across the country to raise awareness.

Please help Karma Nirvana continue their valuable work by donating here. You can enter a different amount if you prefer and have the option for it to remain invisible. If you live in the UK please remember to tick Gift Aid (so the Treasury match your donation with an additional 25%).

Led by the expert team at Treks & Tiaras, come rain or shine we will be hiking all day so please donate whatever you can!  Charity founder, author and activist, Jasvinder Sanghera CBE will be trekking with us, along with several other survivors.  Why not join us on the day? Register here:

From all of us on the trek, thank you very much for your support.
