Help us create a £200,000 fund to tackle environmental issues in our community

Are you passionate about environmental issues in Tyne & Wear and Northumberland?

Can you help us, or do you know somebody who can help us with this challenge?

The Challenge

We need to secure £100,000 in donations by September 2017 to unlock up to £100,000 in pledges from the Greggs Foundation and our own Murray Match scheme to create an endowment fund to tackle environmental issues in for Tyne & Wear and Northumberland in perpetuity. The dedicated endowment fund will build on the work of the Local Environment Action Fund (LEAF) current annual grant making.

Why Give

LEAF provides grants to local communities to deliver projects that tackle environmental issues. In doing so, we are taking small steps towards making our local area and our planet a better place for communities to live, now and for future generations.

There is mounting evidence to show that the quality of our air, green spaces and waterways has a significant impact on the health and wellbeing on us as individuals, as well as our planet. Yet environmental philanthropy still only represents less than 4% of total giving by UK foundations.

The LEAF endowment fund will help to increase the overall level of financial support for environmental causes and ensure that projects addressing local environmental challenges can continue to improve our area for the benefit of all for years to come. For more information on LEAF click here
