New Scout Hut Fund

The old Scout Hut

The Scout Group keeps growing and our current hut is now too old and too small. It also limits who can use it and how it can be used - it has no wheelchair access or facilities for staying overnight. We have planning permission for a new hut and have started raising the necessary funds. So far events have included sponsored walks, cycles, fundraising via Give as You Live a Star Wars YouTube video and one former Scout (Stephen Harpin) who rowed across the Atlantic to raise funds.

The old hut was donated to the Scouts in the 1960's (second hand even then) and served us well for over 50 years. It is now showing its age and has got to the point where we have been advised that it is uneconomical to repair. We want to replace it with a new acccessible activity centre - a place that can be used by the Scout Group, the residents of Stocksfield and groups across the North East of England.

We'd love your help to make it a reality and secure Scouting in Stocksfield for future generations.
