About SOFT UK

SOFT UK provides information and support at all stages following a prenatal diagnosis of Trisomy 13 or Trisomy 18 - whether a family decides to terminate the pregnancy early or allow it to continue. SOFT supports those caring for a baby or child with these conditions (often living with multiple and profound disabilites), and families if a bereavement occurs.

As a membership organisation, families can share their experiences through the SOFT UK website, members' magazine and annual members' events. SOFT offers support to all members of the family, including siblings of the affected child, for as long as required.

At the heart of SOFT UK is the belief that no family should have to cope alone and that offering an opportunity to share experiences can reduce feelings of isolation commonly felt by members of families affected by these rare conditions.

Natalie McKenna is running the Chester Half Marathon on 12 May 2013 in memory of her sister Shannon Rose McKenna who was lost to T18 in May 1990 - good luck Nathalie, we hope all your training pays off!

Katrina Wong will be competing in the 2013 Blenheim Triathlon - in memory of Lulu Lleshi.

Robert Turnbull had a sponsored shave in March and is still accepting donations for SOFT UK.

Glen Cockman is cycling 55 miles across London, traversing every bridge between Tower Hill and Hampton Court - taking in several famous London landmarks and parks. Taking place on Sunday 12 May 2013.

Jonathan Worth is fundraising in memory of Amelia Rose.

Caroline Watts is raising money in memory of Cerys. 

Steve Pilkington is running the Torbay Half Marathon on 23 June 2013 - good luck Steve!

Smashing their £2,000 target is the Cerys' Cuddles team who ran the Ashton Court 10K in memory of Cerys Watts - thanks to Abi, Nicola, Jonathan, Jessica, Stephen, Caroline, John and Luisa.

Clair Nee and her husband Sean are raising money in memory of their unborn son Robin who was lost to Edward's Syndrome on May 16th 2012.

Anthony Marshall has made a donation in memory of Elisabeth Rachel Banfield. Sleep well. Anthony and Cat xxx.

Lucy Makina Lucy Makina will be taking part in a 10k run in Dubai to raise money for SOFT in memory of her daughter.

Amy Fall is doing a sponsored silence on 4th March 2013.

Tim Donoyou is taking part in the London Marathon on 21st April 2013 to raise money for soft.

Jason Tomkins is taking part in several cycle rides throughout the year to raise funds in memory of his precious Nephew Oliver.

Phil Proctor is cycling from London to Paris over the last weekend in June 2012.

Steve Close is running the Sheffield Half Marathon on 27th May 2012.

Robert Smith is running his first ever Marathon in Edinburgh on the 27th May 2012 in memory of his beautiful Son, Toby.

Vicky Aston is running the Greater Manchester Marathon on the 29th April 2012 for SOFT UK.

Lee Lloyd is running the London Marathon 2012 for SOFT UK and Combat Stress who specialise in the care of British Veterans who have been profoundly traumatised by harrowing experiences during their Service Career.

Jim and Ewan are trekking the coastline of the inhabited Shetland Isles in a massive year long fundraiser in memory of Kate Lynne Van Tonder.
