Starfish Greathearts Foundation
Starfish is an international development charity which is dedicated to helping children who have been orphaned or made vulnerable by the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Southern Africa. We help by working with grassroots organisations to provide social care, educational resources and safe environments for the children to learn, play and be cared for.
Starfish was founded by a group of young friends in a London coffee shop in 2001. The charity has since rapidly grown on a global scale - in the last five years thousands of people across the globe have caught the Starfish vision, contributing to the community-based care that we're providing for over 25,000 children in South Africa.
Here in the UK, the small office team and extensive network of volunteers, ambassadors and supporters have established an active Starfish community. Through a hectic events calendar and leading corporate relationships, Starfish is seeking to spread the word that, although this is a pandemic of devastating proportions, each and every one of us can actually make a very real difference. As a young and dynamic organisation, the charity prides itself on putting the fun into fundraising and anyone, anywhere can join in today!
