Yorkshire Cancer Research
Yorkshire Cancer Research is Yorkshire’s very own cancer charity, funding world-class research at Yorkshire’s universities and teaching hospitals.
554 people are diagnosed with cancer every week in Yorkshire. There are significant differences in cancer outcomes throughout the region, as well as below national average survival rates for many of the most common cancers.
We believe that local research is incredibly important. By investing a greater proportion of funds to address regional issues, we can help more people reduce their risk of developing cancer, receive a faster diagnosis and have better access to pioneering treatments.
Currently, we are committed to spending more than £20 million to support 200 scientists and clinicians, funded entirely by our generous supporters. Our priority is to focus on research that matters to Yorkshire people, and we work with other charities and organisations to achieve the greatest possible impact.
By supporting Yorkshire Cancer Research, you can make a difference closer to home, while contributing to the global fight against the disease.
