Music As Therapy International
Project Rwanda

Since 2008 we have been working with Music Therapist Helen Leith to develop the use of music to benefit people with disabilities in Rwanda. In 2011 Music Therapists Nicky Haire and Caroline Anderson returned to the Cyangugu district where they delivered a 6-week skill-sharing project in 2010. They were returning to support the local staff who have been running regular music sessions with disabled children in two care settings. We are now considering how we can build on their great work and further develop the use of music more widely in Rwanda. There is great demand. You can read more about the Rwanda project on our website and by reading the blog Nicky and Caroline kept during their time there.
