The Busoga Trust.
The Busoga Trust is a UK based water, sanitation & hygiene charity. Working mainly in Uganda we have constructed over 2340 safe water sources since 1982 (providing clean, safe drinking water to over 1,000,000 people) along with providing improved sanitation facilities and hygiene/health education.
After air, nothing is so important to the survival of life on Earth as water. Diarrhoeal disease, caused through unsafe water and poor sanitation, is the second largest cause of death amongst children under-5 globally. Furthermore, where it doesnt kill, it severely hampers economic development through lost time in school and employment.
In Uganda, according to the WHO, only 64% of the rural population have access to safe water. When you think that 87% of the population lives in rural areas, this means that vast numbers of people are in daily contact with deadly and debilitating diseases.
As a service provider, The Busoga Trust actually does the work on the ground. There is no middleman. Therefore your donation goes towards providing valuable, sustainable health interventions.
