The Kent And Sharpshooters Yeomanry Regimental Museum Trust
The Trust aims to promote the achievements of the Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry, first formed in Kent in 1794 and subsequently in the County of Lodnon, We have a distinguished record of service in both world wars, and more recently in Iraq and Afghanistan. We have serving squadrons -part of the Reserve Army - in Bexleyheath and Croydon.
Our museum holds a unique collection of physical and digital exhibits, about the life in the regiment at war and peace.
In October 2014 we were successful in raising £275,000, and as a result we were able to proceed with the development of a new museum in the grounds of Hever Castle, which was officially opened by HRH Princess Alexandra in September 2015. We have also run an extensive programme of outreach activities.
Our major fundraising is therefore behind us, and we are now looking to raise around £5000 each year to maintain and refresh our displays.
