Afghanaids programmes

Our vision is of a peaceful and secure Afghanistan, where Afghans exercise their rights to political freedom and economic opportunity in a country where institutions are held accountable.

Afghanistan is amongst the poorest countries in the world. Decades of war, grinding poverty and a collapse in agriculture have devastated its infrastructure and weakened its population.

Afghanaid has worked alongside Afghan communities since 1983, providing assistance for people in hardship and distress. We currently work with over 500,000 Afghan adults and children.

As a UK charity, Afghanaid believes that a vital part of our role is to make people in the UK aware of the life and needs of ordinary people living in Afghanistan. To do this effectively requires people such as you to share your time and efforts to help us raise awareness and funds for our programmes.
