Winner of the Effectiveness Award at the Charity Awards 2011 and named Scottish Charity of the Year in 2009 in recognition of its work meeting the needs of 4,000 homeless and vulnerable people across Scotland, Bethany’s wide range of services offers people support to overcome homelessness problems, from street-level through to community resettlement. Bethany’s unique approach gives people time to work through their problems and supports them as they tackle long-term issues so they can move on and become active members of their community. Services include emergency accommodation, housing support, addiction support, home furnishings, skills-development and learning support, community resettlement, volunteering and placements. Bethany transforms lives and revitalises communities through partnering with individuals, churches, communities and local authorities in Edinburgh, West Lothian, Dumfries, Fife, Aberdeen and Inverness. Motivated by its vision of reducing homelessness through Christian love in action, Bethany gives assistance to all, regardless of their background or belief.
