New Family Social is the UK charity supporting LGBT adopters, foster carers and their children.  We do this by allowing families, and families to be, to build their local support networks and share support and encouragement online.

NFS also works to ensure that all of our members are assessed fairly on their parenting ability, and to raise awareness and acceptance of adoption and fostering by LGBT people.  

We are a young and rapidly growing charity - here are some of our achievements to date:

• Becoming by far the largest group of LGBT adoptive and foster families in the UK, and the only organisation working solely for them, and representing them.
• Holding regular events for families and prospective adopters all over the UK.
• Gaining the support of over 50 local authority and independent adoption and fostering agencies which subscribe to our services.
• Conducting major surveys of adopters and social workers, and writing a range of greatly needed resources, to be published by BAAF later this year.
• Assisting with over 40 media requests per year, helping to raise public awareness and acceptance of our families.
• Hosting a camping festival for our members in 2010 with over 90 adults and 60 children – due to be 50% larger this year.
