Orchestra of the Swan
Orchestra of the Swan needs your support to help us bring music into the lives of more people living with dementia in care homes. Please sponsor David to run the London Marathon to help us bring light in to the dark world of dementia.
David established OOTS back in 1995 and we’re still going strong today. Recognized as the leading chamber orchestra for the heart of England we’ve toured internationally and play at festivals and venues across the UK. Our learning and participation projects with the disabled, elderly, special needs and mainstream children are widely respected and admired.
Our players have completed 90 half day music sessions in care homes this season and we are passionate about continuing and expanding our work in Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Birmingham going forward. Music frequently becomes one of the few ways to communicate with those at an advanced stage of dementia, while it helps to evoke memories in those at a milder stage. So please sponsor David to put himself through hell running the 26.2 miles and help to make more music sessions for those living with dementia possible.
