Orchid Project
Homepage
Orchid Project is working for a global end to female genital cutting.
Female genital cutting affects at least 3 million girls a year in Africa alone, and up to 140 million women are living with the long-term effects of being cut. 29 countries in Africa practise female genital cutting, along with diaspora communities around the world, parts of the Middle East, Indonesia and Malaysia.
Orchid Project works with grassroots delivery projects which are enabling communities to abandon the practice, advocates at a global high level for change, and works to raise awareness amongst the general public.
