The on-going civil war has had devastating effects on the population in the Northern and Eastern provinces of Sri Lanka. Thus the main objective of ACF-UK is to provide both urgent humanitarian relief and long-term rehabilitation for children who have lost one or both parents. ACF-UK has successfully set-up and maintained a sponsorship scheme helping hundreds of children. Over the past 15 years of this scheme we have also identified the need for a separate fund in order to support those children who have gained university places within Sri Lanka.
