The Bedford Hospitals Charity was founded in 1988 to improve the equipment and facilities for patients and staff at Bedford Hospitals. Since then, it has raised a total of over £7million, notably £2.35million for the Primrose Oncology Unit, £365,000 for a new Chemotherapy Preparation Unit and £400,000 to upgrade Cancer Screening equipment in the Endoscopy Department.

The last appeal to raise £200,000 to modernise the Maternity Unit has been successfully completed, and we have now launched our Gamma Plus appeal to raise £600,000 for a combined Gamma Camera with CT Scanner. This is cutting edge technology for accurate diagnosis and will put Bedford Hospital ahead of most others in this field.
