Burrswood Christian Hospital is a registered charity and an independent non-surgical hospital set in a stunning and peaceful location in the heart of Kent.

It is the only independent hospital registered with the Care Quality Commission which integrates medicine and Christian Ministry. The care Burrswood delivers is time rich and based on the principle of Whole Person Healthcare, the understanding that a patient’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs are all of equal importance.

At Burrswood we aspire to provide the very best treatment and care for the whole person without regard to their means or beliefs.  

In our hospital we offer:

• Intensive rehabilitation, respite care and post-operative care.
• Short and longer term palliative care with expert symptom control.
• Confidence and expertise in the treatment of CFS/ME.
• Short-term intensive counselling.
• Expert spiritual and emotional care.

Our facilities include:

• 40 bed hospital with up to date facilities and an environment that is clean, warm and welcoming.
• Team of experienced Resident Physicians, Nurses, Counsellors, Chaplains and Physiotherapists
• Outpatient department for physiotherapy, counselling, hydrotherapy and medical consultations.
• Beautiful six room guest house for rest and personal retreat.
• The Church of Christ the Healer, where services are held regularly and all are welcomed.
• Bocky’s Tea Room serving homemade snacks, lunches and afternoon teas
• Christian bookshop & gift shop.
• Peaceful and beautiful gardens and grounds.
• A charity shop in nearby Crowborough.

At Burrswood we seek to ensure all those who could benefit from our care are enabled to receive it, regardless of their ability to pay. As a Charity we subsidise the true cost of all beds and also operate the Access to Care Fund to which individuals who suffer genuine financial hardship are able to apply for help to cover the cost of their care. Burrswood does not receive any direct government funding. We rely on income from fees, donations, profits from trading activities and fundraising initiatives to sustain the Access to Care Fund, support specific capital projects and develop the mission of Burrswood.
