C.H.A.N.C.E for NEPAL (Children’s Health and Nutrition Care and Education) for Nepal is a registered charity founded by Barbara Datson in 2007 with the explicit aim of helping children in Nepal who are sick, orphaned, handicapped, or underprivileged.
Our mission is to improve children’s health, education and well-being by promoting and sponsoring high quality medical care in hospitals, orphanages and schools. We accomplish this through our unique collaboration between medical professionals and organisations committed to improving children’s health and education.
Our medical support in Nepal mainly focuses on primary health care targeting identification, detection and treatment. C.H.A.N.C.E for Nepal works closely with two outstanding organisations: ‘Medical Checks for Children‘ a Dutch based charity which regularly sends teams of highly trained and motivated volunteers to Nepal and SHENPEN a Nepalese based charity dedicated to the alleviation of poverty. With SHENPEN we are involved with street child projects, educational programmes, a Montessori teacher training programme, vocational training, animal welfare and support the burn unit in the Bir Hospital.
C.H.A.N.C.E for Nepal has set up an educational sponsorship programme at three schools in Kathmandu where 21 children are being sponsored by English sponsors. We are constantly looking for further sponsors. It costs £400 a year to sponsor a child as a boarder and £170 a year as a day student.
100% of money raised goes to the children of Nepal. There are NO administration costs and each team member pays for their own flights, accommodation and food.
