The North of England Zoological Society is the charity which operates Chester Zoo - the UK’s number one zoo.

With over 7000 animals and 400 different species, including some of the most endangered species on the planet, our mission is to be a major force in conserving biodiversity worldwide.

Did you know that we are also involved in many conservation projects working directly with threatened species in the wild? Chester Zoo participates in around 90 conservation outreach projects around the globe and in addition to this we also award Conservation Grants to a number of other grassroots initiatives.

By supporting Chester Zoo you are directly contributing to our conservation work at home and abroad and helping us save species from extinction.
