Children First International (CFI) is a small independent organisation that supports groups and individuals in developing countries by providing funds and other material items that help them help themselves. The charitys motto is Opening new horizons and it promotes the ethos that: if everyone cared enough and everyone shared enough, everyone would have enough. CFI believes that small is beautiful and one of the co-founders visits projects personally, at his own expense, to both support the project(s) and meet the people who are being encouraged to help themselves. There are no employees and no deductions for administration charges; thus funds raised go to the person or group being supported. Projects being financially supported include initiatives in Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone and the UK (Reading). CFI liaises with Rotary International and Lions Clubs International organisations to ensure that funds are managed and monitored appropriately when CFI personell are not available on site
