Community Links
Homepage
Community Links is an east London charity with a national impact. For 32 years, Community Links has been working to tackle poverty and social exclusion in Newham – an area where over 58% children live in poverty. Through a network of over 60 community projects and services we help over 30,000 disadvantaged children, teenagers, adults and older people each year. Our aim is to empower individuals and communities to help them build their own ladder out of poverty – and towards a brighter future. And through our national work, we share these local lessons across the country to widen the impact of our projects and generate lasting social change.
Our projects:
Tackle Poverty – ensuring families can meet their basic material needs – adequate income, appropriate housing, a safe and stable environment – and build a brighter future.
Raise Aspirations – building confidence and life skills, empowering people to explore their dreams, set realistic and achievable goals and fulfil their potential.
Extend Opportunities – supporting those for whom progression from school to college to employment does not run smoothly, enabling them to get back on track and make a positive contribution to their own lives and to the community.
Strengthen Communities – helping people to feel safer, building bridges across ages and cultures, and working to build a better society for all.
