The Museum Of Army Flying Limited

Heroes – past and present – the story of soldiers who fight in the air is told by the Museum of Army Flying at Middle Wallop. The Museum tells the story of young men who experimented with kites, gliders and balloons in the earliest days; of the heroism of the Royal Flying Corps and the Glider Pilot Regiment, awarded nine Battle Honours and one hundred and ninety individual decorations; of the bravery of the men in the AOP. Two World Wars and the many localised conflicts speak to the heroism of each generation. This is our heritage and a legacy we must hand to succeeding generations New building and archive space is badly needed to keep that testament to the heroism of men and their machines safe for them and for those who follow on behind. For that reason the Museum (a registered Charity depending almost solely on public support) has launched an appeal for much needed funds. Liz Critchley is running the Virgin Marathon on our behalf to help raise these much needed funds – please support her.
