The Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation For Peace
Homepage
The Foundation provides educational programmes for young people and adults which aim to prevent, transform and manage the aftermath of conflict. Through innovative educational programmes the Foundation is reaching young people who are on the fringes of society, excluded or at risk of social exclusion and helping them to re-engage in learning and social opportunities. It is tackling key issues affecting society today, prejudice, discrimination and violence within and between communities. The Foundation is also the only organisation in the U.K working with victims and survivors of political violence such as those affected by the Northern Ireland ‘Troubles’, 7/7 bombings, Bali or Madrid as well as ex-soldiers who served overseas. This work offers survivors of political violence the opportunity to transform a painful and challenging experience into a positive opportunity for development, leadership and inspiration for others. More recently the Foundation has been commissioned to provide training to professionals to increase the capacity of those working with young people to deal with the issues they face daily. The Foundation also provides training to emergency planners and resilience workers on the needs of victims and survivors of critical incidents.
