GIST Support Uk
GIST Support UK works to help patients and families affected by GIST (gastro-intestinal stromal tumours).
GIST is a rare cancer and is one of a group of cancers known as sarcomas. The Charity runs an email list and meetings to provide the opportunity to talk to others, and to hear about and discuss aspects of treatment with health professionals.
There are fewer than 1,000 cases of GIST reported annually in the UK, usually affecting people over the age of 60. There is however an even rarer group of patients with Paediatric, Adolescent, Wild-type or Syndromic GIST, and our newly formed PAWS-GIST Clinical Focus Group has been set up by a group of doctors, patients & carers in the UK, who are focussing on improving treatment and finding a cure for PAWS-GIST patients.
