Green Light Trust

From our C02 neutral building, The Foundry, that won the 2006 RIBA East Spirit of Ingenuity Sustainability Award, we run an environmental education charity that has proven powerful environmental and social benefits.

Green Light Trust is at a turning point in our development and with support from Virgin Unite and Virgin Money we have set ourselves an exciting and ambitious five year plan to become a truly sustainable charitable business and social enterprise for the next 20 years and beyond.

We have an impressive track record built up over 20 years with our committed and enthusiastic team of workers and volunteers.

• 25 acres of community-owned woodland Forest for Our Children in Lawshall
• 56 new community-owned WildSpace projects throughout the East of England and beyond
• 150,000 + children engaged in our environmental action activities
• Exemplar OCN accredited Forest School Leadership programme
• 2,000 square miles of virgin rainforest conserved in Papua New Guinea

Our vision for the future includes:

• Realising our ambition of creating 200 community-owned WildSpace projects
• Inspiring and engaging at least another 100,000 children in environmental activities
• Helping businesses achieve their carbon reduction targets with our Carbon Champions Programme
• Continuing our relationship with the people of Papua New Guinea to safeguard their rainforest
• Working with disadvantaged groups e.g. mental health, drug/alcohol, NEETs and Special Needs
