Kids for Kids is the only organisation helping children struggling to survive in remote villages in Darfur, Sudan.  Conditions in Darfur for children in particular are worrying.   Their lives are arguably amongst the hardest in the world.   Mothers fear for their children every day of their lives.  Each day is a struggle to provide food and, even worse, water. Temperatures in Darfur soar to over 50c yet nights can be bitterly cold. Children who are malnourished are particularly vulnerable to chest infections.  Malaria is a feared killer.   Childbirth is something every new bride fears.  There is no health care in the villages, no ambulance to take them to hospital - and no road anyway.    Kids for Kids is saving childrens lives by funding simple grassroots projects, enabling mothers to help themselves - and their families.

The simple loan of 6 goats and a donkey to each family is a life saver. Goats milk is key to a childs health. We install handpumps and provide clean water.  Our village midwives save the lives of mothers and babies every week and first aid workers teach basic hygiene and how to dig latrines.  We teach farming techniques and provide essentials such as blankets, mosquito nets and solar lanterns. Our tree seedlings are giving fruit to children and holding back desertification.

By teaching villagers to run the projects themselves, everything we do is sustainable. Every donation is a lasting gift of life to a child but people have forgotten Darfur.  Can you help please?   Kids for Kids is unique. We are enabling people to help themselves by providing them with the essentials to improve their own lives and, most important, by keeping our administrative costs to the minimum we ensure that donations bring the maximum benefit to childrens lives.
