What is muscle disease?
Muscle disease causes muscles to waste and weaken, making it hard for those affected to do even the simplest task. It doesn’t just affect the muscles in the arms and legs but the heart and respiratory muscles too. Muscle disease is life-limiting and incurable.
Who is Murrays Muscles?
Our son Murray was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy in 2005. Since then, along with family and special friends we have formed a charity, based in Worcestershire aimed at benefiting patients suffering from muscular dystrophy and related diseases across the West Midlands Region.
What do we do?
We work on several levels aiming to relieve sickness, preserve and protect the health of patients within our patient group by:
- Providing or assisting in the provision of specialist equipment for people affected by muscular dystrophy across the West Midlands.
- Campaigning to raise awareness and bring about change.
- Supporting the vital work of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign which is the leading UK charity focusing on all muscle disease. We are dedicated to improving the lives of the 60,000 babies, children and adults affected.
- We help fund world-class research to find effective treatments and cures
We help to lead the fight against muscle disease in the UK.
