The Outward Bound Trust is an educational charity dedicated to unlocking the potential in young people through discovery and adventure in the wild.

Through the generosity of our dedicated supporters, we change the lives of thousands of disadvantaged young people every year.

An Outward Bound course represents a catalyst in a young person’s life. We offer them the option of imagining a future filled with opportunities. They have positive experiences, perhaps for the first time in their lives. They gain confidence, begin to trust others, take responsibility for their actions and understand what they are truly capable of achieving in life.

Founded in 1941, our centres are located in some of the most inspiring locations in the UK, the English Lake District, the Scottish Highlands and Snowdonia. Our classroom is the mountains, the rivers, lakes and the sea and we believe in taking young people on a journey of self discovery both physically and mentally
