Parents Against Child Sexual Exploitation (Pace)
Parents Against Child Sexual Exploitation (Pace) is a national charity, based in Leeds, that works alongside parents and carers of children who are – or are at risk of being – sexually exploited by perpetrators outside of the family.
When a young person is groomed for sexual exploitation, the whole family unknowingly become victims of this devastating form of child abuse. Parents need advice, information and emotional support in order to respond to the effects of child sexual exploitation on their family and to get their child free of their abusers.
For the past 20 years, Pace has set out to:
- Enable parents and carers to safeguard and stop their children being sexually exploited
- Support parents through the trauma caused by child sexual exploitation
- Work with parents and partners to disrupt and bring perpetrators to justice.
- Collate evidence from the work of Pace and undertake research in order to influence policy and practice
