Parkide Hall (Ampthill Community Hall) is the local community hall serving Ampthill and Mid Bedfordshire. It is a charity run by a voluntary management committee for the benefit of the local community. The hall was built in 1965 and was a great achievement at the time as Ampthill had been waiting for a public hall since 1858! Parkside is used virtually every day. An average of 400-500 people use the hall per week and include Dance groups (salsa, tea dances, line dancing), Jazzercise, Karate, Dramatic Society productions, W.I, Dog shows, Antique Fairs, Blood donors, Family parties, Wedding receptions, Public meetings, Dinners and Concerts.

Parkside hall is now showing its age and requiring a great deal of expenditure on maintenance.

The charity land includes the Nottingham Rooms, a smaller hall, (administered by the Town Council), and a disused netball court.

The Trustees have decided that the only suitable course is to redevelop the whole site to provide  replacement halls and an enlarged car park. Obviously this is a very big project requiring a great deal of planning and fundraising.

It is estimated that a replacement hall will cost in excess of £500,000. Ampthill Town Council fully support the efforts of the Trustees and are contributing a significant sum towards the rebulid. However it is only through the support of the whole community that we will get the hall our community deserves. Please therefore give generously to make our dream a reaility.
