S.A.L.V.E. International is a British-based charity working to get children off the streets of Jinja in eastern Uganda. Behind the friendly and hospitable image of Uganda is a sad truth; children, orphaned, abandoned and rejected, can be seen down every back street. To those who live here and pass by every day, they have become invisible children; an inevitable and unalterable fact of life. Our ethos is to provide support and love via education, and with the generous help of our supporters, S.A.L.V.E. provides these vulnerable children with a home and a school education.

But this is only half of S.A.L.V.E.s work, as we plough any additional resources directly back into the local communities in which we work to try to tackle some of the causes of children ending up on the streets in the first place.
