Teach A Man To Fish
Homepage
At Teach A Man To Fish we believe that education is the real key to tackling global poverty.
We support pioneering education projects in some of the worlds poorest countries - giving young people a chance to learn the skills to help themselves.
Our approach is unique in aiming for long-term financial sustainability. Alongside class-based lessons, student-run businesses generate income which helps cover the schools costs, an education that pays for itself!
So when our students leave school they not only have a qualification, but entrepreneurial and practical skills which they can use to earn a living.
Successful projects to date have supported Ugandan schools in pig keeping, funded poor Kenyan students through a school run poultry farm and helped a school in Paraguay become completely self-sufficient.
Teach a Man to Fishs Escuela Agricola project in Paraguay was last year named the Runner Up in the BBCs global World Challenge awards, which celebrate enterprise and innovation at a grass roots level.
