The Common Guild
Homepage
The Common Guild is a visual arts organisation based in Glasgow. It was established in 2006 and presents a dynamic, international programme of contemporary visual art projects, exhibitions, and events. These include gallery-based exhibitions at our current premises as well non-gallery, one-off projects, talks and collaborations. We are committed to presenting artists’ work in interesting and engaging ways and aim to offer access to world-class contemporary art experiences and discussions. The Common Guild is a charitable, not-for-profit organisation receiving Flexible Funding from Creative Scotland and project funding from Glasgow City Council. These grants account for 70% of our running costs so the organisation has to fundraise to support the development of the artistic programme. The work of the organisation is supported by a number of individuals who offer their time, experience and resources free of charge, and by those that make donations to support the programme. Our thanks go to Douglas Gordon and Toby Webster, whose generous support has been vital to the establishment and development of The Common Guild.
