The Rotary Club of Yeo Vale helps local, national and international charities both through charitable fund raising activities and through the undertaking of various practical tasks where this is possible. Often a club is linked with a school and we work with Stanchester School at Stoke sub Hamdon to provide senior student training and practice job interviews. In the year ended June 2010 the club was able to donate over £17,500 to charitable causes both locally and internationally.

We have continued to support Yeovil Opportunity Group in practical ways as well as financially and including the provision of a website - www.yog.org.uk

Last year we once again teamed up with Somerset Music to present three very successful evenings of musical entertainment - performed by over 1,400 participants from 44 schools and musical groups across South Somerset in front of a combined audience of almost 2,000 parents and friends. Now in its 21st year, the 2010 Spectacular provided another opportunity for performers aged from 5 through to mature adults to showcase their considerable musical talents. A similar event is planned for April 2011.
