BGS Archive Digitisation Project

We are committed to preserving the history of the Bury Grammar Schools for generations to come. The website is just the beginning of our project to digitise the Archives of both our schools so that they are available to view at the click of a button for all those with a connection to BGS.

We have started with photographs, historical documents and copies of The Record and The Clavian but there is still so much more we would like to make available to you. However, this will only be possible with donations towards the project. If you are able to make a donation, it will be gratefully received.

All donations will be placed in our Joint Archive Fund. However, if you wish to donate to a specific project, please state this in the "I would like to leave a message" box.

Total donations: £920.00

In memory of old boy T.W Myerscough who appears in various publications during his years at BGS from 1938 to 1943. It is wonderful that this information is available to show to his son, Andrew who misses him greatly.

Mr R Marshall (Headmaster, BGS Boys)

Just yesterday, I was able to make an Old Boy very happy, by finding his picture on the 1948 School photo. What a fantastic project this is! Long may it continue. Thank you to all who have made it possible.
