Isaac Freemantle

In October 2014 after a short period of feeling unwell & a few blood tests, Isaac was diagnosed with ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKAEMIA ALL. Isaac was transferred immediately to University College London UCLH where he received excellent treatment &  care on the Teenage Cancer Trust ward. The ward & facilities were amazing, perfect for all teenagers at a time when they really need support.

After a few weeks Isaac was well enough to return home with treatment continuing as an outatient at UCLH in the Macmillan Cancer Centre. This provides a designated floor for teenagers & young adults only.  The floor is split between a Macmillan treatment area on one side and on the other a relaxation/chill out area provided by The Teenage Cancer Trust with computers, crafts areas, pool table, table tennis, music & a drinks area - freely available at all times.

Throughout Isaacs care, we as a family, have been supported by Clic Sargent. Their role has been to help us through a mind blowing period in our lives. Clic Sargent have the knowledge and provide support on grants, benefits and information for cancer suffers. They also stay in touch with regular calls to see how its all going and provide free accomodation Pauls House opposite the hospital. Isaac has benefited from this when he had a number of outpatient appointments in one week and used Pauls House for two nights. It gave Isaac a refuge from treatment each day without the long daily train travel he would have had to face otherwise.

These 3 Charities have been amazing, providing excellent treatment, care, support and love to what has been a life changing experience for the whole family.

As a family we have been exposed to a new and sometime overpowering change in our lives. This has been made far more easy to manage with the help and support of Teenage Cancer Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support and Clic Sargent. We are taking on the challenge of making sure Isaac defeats this terrible disease called ALL. Giving generously to these three charities will go some way in winning this battle and giving something back to unsung heroes. These charities really make a difference to peoples lives.

Thankyou and God Bless.
