Born: 16/02/1959 - Passed away: 07/01/2017

Kyriakos  George Karageorgis also called by the first name of George sadly passed away last Saturday 7th January 2017 at the age of 57.

He attended Highgate High School from there he graduated in Economics from Hull University.

From there he joined the family business but soon after he opened his own restaurant the T Bone Steak House in Barking which he ran for 17 years and from 2009 he became the owner of the Clissold Arms Gastro pub in Fortis Green, Muswell Hill.

George Karageorgis who was well known for his charismatic character built the Clissold Arms into a hub of the North London Community  where local societies and charities would hold their meetings and events. And was named Best Family Pub in London and the South East in 2014-15 and 2015-16. He also worked very closely with both charities The Harrington Scheme & Mind as both meant a lot to him.

The Clissold Arms is also the home of The Kinks, having had the honour of hosting their first gig in December 1960, and their last gig, in June 1996. In their honour, the Clissold Arms Kinks Room is adorned with Kinks memorabilia and is the pride of Kinks fans from all over the world.

The funeral will take place at 10am on Saturday 21st January 2017 at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of All Saints in Camden Street , London NW1 0JA and the burial at New Southgate Cemetery.

The wake ( family & close friends only) will be held afterwards at the Clissold Arms, 105 Fortis Green, East Finchley, London N2 9HR.

I'm so sorry to hear of Gigs' passing. He was a great guy - strong, straight and so utterly charming. When we were at Uni he was the life and soul of the party and especially generous with his Mum's delicious moussaka! Goodbye Gigs. A true star.
