Maiden name: George Stansfield - Born: 30/11/2013 - Passed away: 02/12/2013

Team George raises money for SSNAP Support for the Sick, Newborn and their Parents who are the official charity of the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford, primarily supporting the neonatal intensive care, high dependency and low dependency units.

Our beautiful boy, George Christopher Stansfield, was born at 15:10 on 30th November 2013 at Milton Keynes General Hospital. Unfortunately, following a healthy pregnancy, complications arose during the final minutes of labour and Georges brain was deprived of oxygen, meaning he was battling for his life from the moment he was born. George was transferred to the intensive care neonatal unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where the amazing staff there battled to save his life and support us and our family. Sadly, George lost his battle and went to sleep peacefully in the arms of his Mummy and Daddy at 3:00 on 2nd December. The team at the hospital were unbelievable and supported both George and us in a way we can never thank them enough for. The care they showed our gorgeous baby boy was astounding and everything they did for us made our situation a little easier.

In Georges memory we have set up Team George to raise money for SSNAP. The support from friends, family and now a much wider circle has been amazing and we cannot express how grateful we are to everybody. Team George started as a core 12 of us who were at the hospital with George. The team now numbers over 500 and our fundraising has progressed to a level we never imagined. We have held and participated in many events in 2014, including half and full marathons, the Team George Mile, coffee morning, pub quiz, golf day, a memorial run held on Georges 1st birthday and in November 2014 we were also selected as the official charity of the Centre:MK Christmas display. We will continue to host events in the future to progress our fundraising efforts and support the hospital that supported us.

RIP beautiful baby George "Always Loved, Never Forgotten"
