In loving memory of Charlie Hutton

Born: 20/09/1997 - Passed away: 20/07/2012

As many of you may know, in July 2012 our son / younger brother Charlie Hutton, aged 14, died in a tragic boating accident. The RNLI were absolutely amazing in their efforts and we wanted to show our appreciation for the incredible work they do. Having raised £27,848.54, including gift aid, on our Team Hutton giving page, we had not been aware that the page would automatically close after two years. As a result in 2015 we set up this Someone Special page so that, with your support, we can continue raising money in Charlie's name for this great charity and as a lasting legacy to his memory and the skill, passion and fun he brought to everything he did.

We hope you will continue to support us in our future fundraising activities for this extremely worthy cause and the new ones we have added. You can find out more about our past activities on the Team Hutton blog here:

We have also evolved the great fundraising Sam did through Challenge-Charlie with his 97 days of running in 2014. We set up a site for more challenges and Oxted Hockey Club was the first to take part by undertaking the 3 Peaks Challenge to help raise funds for the RNLI and Oxted Hockey Club where Charlie was a player. They raised £5,000 for their amazing effort. Tom then embarked on a new challenge in the form of Challenge Charlie Ironman Copenhagen 2016. Unfortunately, while training on his bike he decided to take on a lorry head on and lost. His fitness and the speed and skills of the Air Ambulance team helped to save his life. This put our fundraising on hold for a year but Tom has made great progress and is starting to rebuild his fitness and is even back at work. His blog hasn't been touched for a while but may get some updates soon:

We will continue to think of ideas, raise funds and support the RNLI and the two Air Ambulance services that became part of our life in the last year. Sam's charity single Rescued, that he played at Charlie's memorial service, is still available on itunes with profits going to the RNLI. Listen and buy if you like it here. And keep an eye out for his new music venture with great friend Al and their FIKA music.
Thanks again for all your support
Tom, Sam, Simon & Gill.
