The 150 Day Adventure

Fundraisers:
Karen Westlake, Chris Westlake

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/150days

We did it!!  We cycled a total of 663 miles and arrived in Göttingen in Germany on Friday, 17th July.

Thank you to everyone who has supported and sponsored us along the way.  Our current fundraising total, including Gift Aid, stands at an incredible £663!  Amazingly this is exactly £1 per mile cycled.  If you haven't already sponsored us and would like to do so, the page is still open.  Click the "Donate Now" button and follow the instructions.

We hope shortly to have a full account of our travels and adventures along the way on our 150 Day Adventure website.  (See link below.)

Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!

The challenge is to cycle from Cheltenham to Gottingen in Germany, carrying all our kit on the bikes and spending most nights in our sleeping bags and bivvies, to raise a substantial sum to help provide safe and secure accommodation for some of the most vulnerable young people in our community.

By providing a safe home and hope for the future, we know that the YMCA in Cheltenham is able to bring about real change to the lives of young people.

By making a donation, you will be playing an important part in ensuring that more young people are offered this vital opportunity at a time when they are most in need.

Let's set the record straight - one half of the team is young, fit and very able.  The other half of the team is getting on a bit in years, was very unfit at the start of this adventure, and is not so confident in her ability to cycle 600 miles on a bike laden with sleeping bag, bivvy, clothes, food, etc etc etc.  However, the cause is spurring her on.  If one young person's life is changed for the better, the aching limbs, saddle soreness and nights without sleep will be worth it.

£600 is equivalent to just £1 per mile cycled.  Will you help us achieve it?

Thank you.
