Adam Bojelian's Fundraising Trike Ride

Fundraiser:
Adam Bojelian

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/AdamBojelian

Hi, thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I have now completed my fundraising using this page, but if you want to sponsor me you can do so at:- http://www.justgiving.com/Adam-Bojelian

Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me so far.

I'm Adam and I am just 11 years old.  I may look familiar as recently I have had alot of coverage in newspapers, on the www and on t.v. because last year I won both a Brit Writer's Award and a GOLD Blue Peter badge.

Unfortunately this year the Gringe seems to have stolen the sunshine here in Scotland.  This has meant that we have had miserable cold and wet weather for virtually the whole year.  Due to my health conditions I need the sun to be shining and for it to be a minimum of 15oC for me to complete my ride.  It also has to be dry.  The bad weather this year has also meant that I have had lots of spells of bad health all through the spring and summer, whereas usally I have much better health in these months.  I am determined to complete my trike ride to support the brilliant work of Contact A Family Scotland's Volunteer Parent Reps.  I don't want to let them down or all the people who have so generously sponsored me.  If you have already sponsored me, your donation will have already been passed by Virgin to Contact A Family Scotland.  The weather and my health are now not looking promising for me to complete my ride in 2011, but I promise all my supporters I will complete the ride as soon as the sunshines in 2012.

In the meantime, you can listen to the feature about me on BBC Radio Scotland's Culture Cafe. I'm mentioned in the introduction, the main item about me is at 28 minutes and I also sneak into the following item:-

I was also spotted by a keen eyed BBC journalist when I asked a question reecently at the Edinburgh International Book Fesival:-

I also manage to sneak into this short film about Emily Dodds on this page, who recently won an award for volunteering.  She talks about the help she has gievn me to publicise my poetry and this trike ride.  Thank you Emily!

My next challenge is even tougher than writing award winning poetry by blinking, I now plan to raise funds to support the work of parent volunteers for Contact A Family Scotland by riding a mile on my tricycle.

Parent volunteers provide crucial support to families with disabled children through out Scotland, including in parts of the country where little or no other support is available.  As parents of disabled children themselves Contact A Family volunteers are best placed to provide the right support at the right time to other families.

I do hope you will sponsor me to support this brilliant work.  Thank you
