Artemis Charitable Foundation
The Artemis Charitable Foundation sponsors the Artemis Great Kindrochit Quadrathlon, an exhilarating test of strength, stamina, and fitness through some of the most spectacular and historic areas of the Scottish Highlands. It involves a 0.8 miles (1.35km) swim across Loch Tay, a 15 mile (24km) run/walk over seven munros, a 7 miles (11km) kayak on Loch Tay, ending with a 34 mile (54km) cycle around the Loch. All proceeds raised by participants go to support the fantastic work undertaken by: Mercy Corps: An international development charity working in over 40 countries worldwide helping people to turn the crises of natural disaster, poverty and conflict into opportunities for progress. Mary's Meals: An international movement to set up school feeding projects in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education. Hello all

The Artemis Great Kindrochit Quadrathlon is a gruelling event taking place in Scotland on 8 July this year. It includes:

  • 0.8 miles (1.35km) swim across Loch Tay
  • 15 miles (24km) run/walk across seven munros
  • 7 mile (11km) kayak across Loch Tay
  • 34 mile (54km) cycle around the Loch

I’m taking part in the above as part of a relay team and am designated runner, which means I’ll be running for c.10 hours up and down 7 Munros (the largest of which is 1,214 metres high).

Why? Good question – I’ve been asking myself the same thing during my early starts and late night runs home. Aside from a great personal challenge, the organiser (Artemis) has nominated two charities to benefit from the 2017 Quadrathlon:

Mercy Corps, an international development charity working in over 40 countries worldwide helping people to turn the crises of natural disaster, poverty and conflict into opportunities for progress.

Mary's Meals, an international movement to set up school feeding projects in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education.

If you could spare some coppers to sponsor me, I’d be very grateful. Equally, if you want to come on any training runs/swims/bike rides, just let me know! Support in any guise is welcomed J

Thank you!
