RP Fighting Blindness
RP Fighting Blindness, registered charity no. 1153851, is an organisation dedicated to finding a treatment for retinitis pigmentosa (RP) and other related inherited retinal dystrophies (IRDs), hereditary conditions of the retina which lead to deterioration of sight and ultimately to blindness. IRDs affect some 25,000 people in the UK alone. The charity seeks to stimulate and fund cutting-edge medical research and provides information and support services to those affected. The RP Fighting Blindness Research Program is currently funding multiple projects across the UK, and to date has invested over £14m in medical research.

Team Canter for Sight's fundraising page

David Bradford

My page:

Each late-summer bank holiday, the Canter for Sight team raises funds for research into inherited sight loss by cantering the five kilometres from Chiddingly to East Hoathly, in East Sussex, as part of the Kings Head Canter 5k race.

This year's Canter takes place on bank holiday Monday, 28th August, starting at 11am. Each runner on the team is entered into a fundraising raffle, drawn immediately after the race – raffle prize donations very much appreciated.

The team's organiser, David Bradford was diagnosed with RP in 2006, aged 24. He recently wrote about having RP for VICE.
