The Daisy Garland
A family-run national children’s charity providing active support for children with drug-resistant epilepsy and their parents/carers. The charity was set up in memory of our daughter Daisy who tragically died at 6 years of age from SUDEP (sudden unexpected death in epilepsy patients). We provide NHS hospitals with ketogenic dietitians - a medically recognised and accepted way of treating drug resistant epilepsy. This diet is not widely available on the NHS due to lack of funding. We also provide grants for night-time breathing monitors to children with drug-resistant epilepsy.

Hi, thanks for visiting our page. Through Virgin Money Giving, donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

On Monday, 27 June Equiniti in Farnborough (and Fulwood) are holding a charity day to raise funds for The Daisy Garland; a charity which supports families of children with drug-resistant epilepsy.

The Daisy Garland is a family-run, national, UK registered charity which aims to offer help and support, in whatever way they can, to those whose lives are touched by drug resistant epilepsy.  They fund an increasing number of Ketogenic Dietitians in NHS hospitals across the UK (a ketogenic diet is proven to help people with epilepsy to be able to reduce or even completely stop their medication and be seizure-free ), and provide help with support equipment for use at home. Over the years they have helped hundreds of families with active support and advice.

This is a charity close to our hearts as Mandy’s elder son, Bertie, has  drug-resistant epilepsy and The Daisy Garland has been supporting them.  The Daisy Garland has  provided the family with a night-time breathing monitors (Epilepsy Monitor) for use in the home; this means that they no longer have to take it in turns to sleep in Bertie’s room watching out for night-time seizures as the monitor will raise the alarm.  The Daisy Garland also offer a wealth of advice which is invaluable especially when you are isolated in hospital.  They have also been able to put Mandy and Stuart in touch with other families in a similar situation so that they can learn more about the Ketogenic diet.
