NRAS
The National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) supports people affected by rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and their families, friends and carers. RA can strike at any age causing joint swelling and stiffness and extreme pain and fatigue. Around 700,000 people are affected with around 12,000 children suffering from the juvenile form of the disease. There is presently no cure and approximately 26,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. We give support through our freephone Helpline, a nationwide Volunteer Network with one to one telephone support, a wide range of publications and leaflets on all aspects of living with the disease, and our informative website. We also campaign to raise awareness of the disease and ensure fair treatment and best use of resources for all those with RA.

PLEASE SUPPORT ME AND MY BRILLIANT TEAM OF WHEELCHAIR PUSHERS!!

We did it!  We completed the race in 3 hours.  Whilst the weather was incredibly hot one moment and then pouring with rain the next it was worth taking part.  Its not too late to donate so please do dig deep.  Thank you.

Once again a team of pushers are entering the Great North Run in aid of the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) with Ailsa in her wheelchair.  It will be another mammoth challenge that we are all keen to take on.

NRAS will be celebrating its 10th birthday this year.  We have achieved so much in the last 10 years and your donations will ensure that NRAS will be here in the years to come, providing information, support and advocacy for those in need.

Please give generously to the only national specialist charity focusing on rheumatoid arthritis (RA), a life changing disease.  By taking part in this event we also hope to raise awareness of RA in the UK and the services NRAS provides for people who suffer from this painful and disabling disease that affects nearly 700,000 adults  across the UK. The Juvenile form of the disease also affects approximately 12,000 children under the age of 16.

Ailsa, CEO, NRAS  - ‘I have suffered with severe RA since my late twenties.  Shortly after my daughter Anna  was born, the RA hit me with a vengeance  and I have been fighting it ever since.  My daughter grew up helping me with everyday tasks, often coping with a mother in extreme pain and seeing her go into hospital many times for surgery.  I launched the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) in 2001 to help people living with RA and their families and whilst we have done a lot, there is so much more to do'.

Please dig deep and donate generously.
