Kids Company was founded by Camila Batmanghelidjh in 1996. We provide practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children and young people suffering neglect and abuse. Many of the 13,500 children we reach have experienced severe and multiple trauma; often living in chronic deprivation, with little or no support, and facing the daily anxieties of caring for their family as the role of parent and child are reverse. The support we offer is tailored to the needs of each individual. We never give up on a child, whatever it takes. Every pound that you donate will make a lasting difference to a child’s life. We aim to return children to their childhood and offer the possibility of a positive future.

Girls On Top ... of Kilimanjaro
MOUNT KILIMANJARO CHARITY CLIMB 2012
On the 19th February 2012, Sasha, Michelle, Emma, Coops, Georgie and Laura - aka GIRLS ON TOP - will be climbing up MOUNT KILIMANJARO in Tanzania for the wonderful UK charity KIDS COMPANY.
We'll be taking the LEMOSHO ROUTE up the mountain, allowing for optimum acclimatisation time (we hope!). Our trek (read - mighty uphill struggle) will take NINE WHOLE DAYS - and only one of these is actually going down!
It's all very EXCITING but very SCARY too (not just the tough climb, nor the freezing cold, nor the dizzying altitude, which are all actually pretty terrifying in themselves) as we need to raise £3,000 EACH. That's £18,000 altogether - eek!
It would be AMAZING if you could kindly show your SUPPORT for us by sponsoring us to climb AFRICA'S HIGHEST MOUNTAIN - it's nearly 6,000M to the peak! It will be quite a challenge but we can't wait! BRING IT ON!
KIDS COMPANY aims to tackle child poverty and helps thousands of deprived chiidren across London, empowering them to live POSITIVE and FUFILLED lives. Donations from this website will pass directly to the charity. Click on the link to the left for more info on Kids Company.
