Friends Of The Belarusian Childrens Hospice UK
We are a UK charity that supports the Belarusian Children’s Hospice (BCH) in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. BCH was the first children's hospice set up in response to the Chernobyl disaster. BCH cares for children from 0-24 years who have life limiting conditions, most having multiple problems. Parents are shown how to care for their children at home with regular visits and support from the BCH team. Friends of BCH has helped to develop BCH from a small team to one able to train and pass on its knowledge to others in Belarus and other Russian speaking countries. We initiated and trained the dedicated fundraising team at BCH, now raising money in Belarus to pay for staff salaries and medical supplies. Recently we have turned our attention to paediatric physiotherapy and have launched a pilot programme led by two UK physiotherapists. Friends of BCH is run by a small group of unpaid trustees working from home. Administration costs are minimal. Our chairwoman is a fluent Russian speaker and a member of the BCH Advisory Board which meets in Minsk three times a year. All our trustees have visited BCH and take their role as advisers and fundraisers seriously. We receive six-monthly accounts from BCH and manage our input to BCH programmes through visits, email and Skype.

My page:

Hi, thanks for visiting our page.

In mid-August, together with a number of friends, we are attempting the Three Peaks Challenge! Yes, that's right... Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, but not in 24 hours between first and last peak. We feel rather too old for that tough a schedule!  We are planning to scale as many of these mountains as we can over six days, raising money for Friends of the Belarusian Children's Hospice UK (see details in the adjacent box). We are financing the challenge out of our own pockets.  All sponsorship money raised will be used exclusively for the benefit of The Belarusian Children's Hospice.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us. Donations will be quickly processed and passed to the charity. Virgin Money Giving is a not-for-profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for your donation.
