Interactive is the lead strategic development agency for sport and physical activity for disabled people in London. Our vision is to achieve an active and inclusive capital. We ensure disability equality and inclusion are at the heart of grass root sport in London. Our role is to influence and support mainstream sport providers and policy makers to ensure they create, deliver and sustain inclusive opportunities for disabled people. We use our expertise and influence across London to advocate inclusive sport and inform and advise disabled people on how they can get involved, at all levels, in sport and physical activity in London.

Libby Hughes's fundraising page
Hi, thanks for visiting my page.
I have been running for some time now and more and more have began not just to appreciate it for getting fit and feeling good, but as a major hobby and passion.
After notching up the kms around london, and competing in a number of half marathons, i decided to take on the big one... and entered last years Berlin Marathon. My first Marathon was a daunting task, and i was nervous and excited when it came round. The acheivement of finishing, and in a time of 4hrs 0mins 24secs was a great reward for all the hard work - and was one of the hardest things ive ever done!
With aching legs and utterly exhausted, i swore that my first marathon would also be my last. But once the body had recovered, I began to think about the one thing that i had always wanted to do since i started running regularly - The London Marathon.
The Berlin Marathon was a great experience, but very tough, and very lonely out there on the course with only limited support (my mum, aunt and boyfriend!). But the thought of being able to run, in the place i call home, in one of the biggest marathons in the world... and with the support of all my London friends and family... was a too bigger dream to ignore, and so i set my mind to run in 2011.
The beauty of the London Marathon, apart from running through this beautiful city in such a big race, is the opportunity it provides for people to run not just for themselves, but to help others along the way. This is perhaps the most exciting part for me, that I am able to use the passion for running, which has helped me so much in my life, to make a difference for an important cause.
The Charity i have chosen to run for is Interactive, who are the Lead Organisation for sport for disabled people in London. Interactive do some amazing and important work to make sure that disabled people are offered the same opportunities that people such as myself take for granted.
Running has given me such an important focus and outlet in my life and helps me keep the rest of my life on track. I cant imagine not being able to take part in my sport and what impact this would have, which is sadly the reality for the many disabled people who face many barriers to taking part in sport. Sadly, these barriers are not just ability... but attitudes, awareness and opportunity.
Interactive work tirelessly to break down these barriers and provide important support to sporting organisations all over London in order to ensure disabled people have the same chance to take part in sport as everyone else.
I now face a really difficult challenge in order to help this important cause. Not just 42.2kms of London, but in raising my target of 1500 pounds. I am planning to host a number of different events to help me reach this target, but the support of my friends and family is going to be so important to help make this happen, so any donations you can make wil go a long way.
Your support in helping reach both these goals is really appreciated and will make a huge difference to my efforts in 2011, as well as to the lives of thousands of disabled londoners who just want to be able to take part in sport like the rest of us.
Please donate, and wish me luck!
Love
Libs
