Help for Heroes
Help for Heroes (H4H) was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry after a profoundly moving visit to Selly Oak Hospital in the summer of 2007. Bryn and Emma met some extraordinarily brave young people who had been badly wounded and they just wanted to do something to help. "It’s about the blokes, our men and women of the Armed Forces. It’s about Derek, a rugby player who has lost both his legs, it’s about Carl whose jaw is wired up so he has been drinking through a straw. It’s about Richard who was handed a mobile phone as he lay on the stretcher so he could say goodbye to his wife. It’s about Ben, it’s about Steven and Andy and Mark, it’s about them all. They are just blokes but they are our blokes; they are our heroes. We want to help our heroes."
The Royal British Legion
The Royal British Legion Safeguards the welfare, interests and memory of those who are serving or who have served in the armed forces. We are one of the UK's largest membership organisations and recognised as custodians of Remembrance. We also run the annual Poppy Appeal

Paul Smith

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/LordSmythe1908

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of World War I on 11th November I intend to run and visit 100 war memorials throughout County Durham.

Commencing at 11 minutes past midnight on Tuesday 11/11/2014 at Hartlepool's Heugh Gun Battery (famous for returning gun fire on December 16th 1914) then continue to run into County Durham and visit a total of 100 war memorials finishing at Durham Cathedral.

In keeping with the WWI commemorative theme fundraising proceeds shall be split 50/50 between The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and Help For Heroes.

Men and women paid the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives please give generously.
